Frequently Asked Questions Related to Gambling
Question: Is there such a thing as having three pairs in Texas Hold'em?
Answer: No. You always use the best 5 cards possible out of your pocket cards and community cards. Let's say your pocket cards are a 3 and a 5. The community cards show a 3, a 5, and 2 jacks as well. This would not mean you have 3 pairs (3's, 5's, and Jacks) You would have 2 pairs of Jacks and 5's.
Question: If everyone buys in for the same amount, how can I have an advantage over other players?
Answer: By winning their money! If the maximum buy in is $100, and everyone has $100 but you wind up winning a $500 pot, you will have a major advantage.
Question: Who would be the winner if two people have a flush?
Answer: This would depend on who has the higher card. For example, if one of the winners happens to have an ace in their hand also (contributing to the flush) this could make them win.
